Hey there folks we’re back with another Around the Foghorn podcast for your listening pleasure. We went 90 minutes today and packed in all the happenings around the Giants the last 2 weeks. You can tune in below.
Today we talked about the recent hot stretch by Pablo Sandoval. Is this 9-game hitting streak a fluke? Or has the real Pablo Sandoval shown up?
Angel Pagan hurt his shoulder Saturday night and is listed as day-to-day. He is supposed to get the start Tuesday in Colorado. We covered what kind of impact this will have on the team going forward. Chris wonders if a DL stint might help Pagan stay healthy so he can contribute in August and September.
I learned something new from Chris on the show today. Like many of you, I had no idea where the “Yes Movement” comes from. Chris explains that and more on today’s show. I assume Mike Morse is behind this in the clubhouse. If it works for the guys, I’m all for it. Here’s a little primer on the movement. It’s worth your 3 minutes.
The Giants have ended their stretch of 17 games without a day off. We looked at how they did during that stretch, and talk about the different ways the Giants have been getting it done.
The Giants lead baseball in 2-out RBI and we break down the how and why of the team’s success in this area.
Chris’s player of the week was Pablo Sandoval. Hard to go wrong with that choice as he’s been the Giants best hitter the last week. Yes, I just typed those words.
I went with Hector Sanchez. My basic reasoning is that he has given the team more flexibility during Brandon Belt‘s recovery. I will never call that man “Hacktor” again, he has proven to be a valuable part of the club.
