Pre-Game & Lineups: San Francisco Giants Host Miami Marlins On Orange Friday

The Giants and Marlins face off in game 2 of this 4-game weekend series tonight. The Giants took the first game with a great comeback and look to continue the roll they are on. For the Marlins RHP Henderson Alvarez (2-3, 3.33 ERA) takes the hill opposed by RHP Yusmeiro Petit (2-1, 4.85 ERA) for the Giants.

Tim Hudson‘s turn in the rotation will be skipped tonight with Petit getting his third spot start this season. Hudson has a strained left hip but the Giants don’t think it is serious enough for a DL stint. Hudson is slated to make his next start in Colorado.

Hunter Pence is red hot right now. He’s gotten hits in 9 of last 14 at bats (.643) and scored 4 runs during that time. Pence has also been better at home than on the road this season, batting .347 with 5 doubles, 2 triples, and a home run.

It’s Metallica Night as well as Orange Friday tonight. Here are the lineups.

In case you missed it, Jose Fernandez of the Marlins underwent Tommy John Surgey recently.

Enjoy the music and the baseball, I was going to try to weave musical puns through the pre-game notes, but there’s no way I’m topping this.
