The San Francisco Giants (20-11) continue their road trip against a struggling Pittsburgh Pirates (12-19) side. Coming off a fabulous sweep of the Atlanta Braves, the Giants will be looking to continue their success. The Giants arrive in great form, lights out pitching and some immense power hitting have helped them power over their first National League opponent.

The three game series against Atlanta, marked the first time this season that the Giants ventured outside of the National League West to play another National League team. The Pirates have struggled mightily thus far, however, do arrive into this series after beating the Toronto Blue Jays in a home series, 2-1. The Pirates currently sit second bottom of the Central division, whilst the Giants currently lead the way in the West.

Despite their early season struggles, the Pirates can’t be taken lightly. They boast a tremendous offense, featuring National League home run king, Pedro Alvarez, and reigning National League MVP, Andrew McCutchen. Young ace, Gerrit Cole will also be one to watch when he takes to the mound in game three.
