San Francisco Giants Hit Walk-Off In The 12th Inning To Beat Dodgers 3-2

Here is the perfect tweet to sum up tonight’s Giants vs Dodgers game.

The 12-inning, five hour game started at 7:15pm with Tim Lincecum on the mound for the Giants. With the exception of giving up a solo home run to Juan Uribe in the second inning, Timmy pitched fantastic for the Giants tonight. He allowed 5 hits and one earned run in 5 innings pitched, bringing his ERA down to a 7.20.

The Giants had 12 hits in the game and Hunter Pence and Brandon Belt both had three hits each. Still not really promising for the Giants.

Bruce Bochy used all of his pitchers in the game: Lincecum, David Huff, Jean Machi, Javier Lopez, J.C. Gutierrez, Sergio Romo, Santiago Casilla and Yusmeiro Petit. Petit (1-1, 4.50 ERA) recorded the win tonight after a walk-off single from Hector Sanchez scored Brandon Crawford in the bottom of the 12th inning.

The Giants and Dodgers are now tied with a 9-5 record in the National League West. The Dodgers return to AT&T Park tomorrow for game two of three against the Giants. Ryan Vogelsong (0-0, 8.00 ERA) will start for the Giants and LHP Paul Maholm (0-1, 8.10) will start for the Dodgers.

I’m exhausted, here are some video highlights (courtesy of MLB) from tonight’s game.

Belt hits a double down the left-field line, scoring Angel Pagan to tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the 9th inning.

Hicks makes a diving catch on a line drive off the bat of Adrian Gonzalez in the top of the 10th inning.

Sanchez singles up the middle, scoring Brandon Crawford for the walk-off Giants win in the bottom of the 12th inning.
