Good morning San Francisco Giants fans! I have the pleasure of writing this from Scottsdale, Arizona and will be making my way over to today’s game in a few short hours. The Giants face the Seattle Mariners today at Scottsdale Stadium at 12:05 pm PST/1:05 pm MST. It’s the first of two meetings between the teams this spring.
Here’s some good news for those of you that have been listening on the radio – today’s game will be televised on CSN Bay Area beginning at Noon PST.

The Giants are still solidifying their bullpen members and at this point, it’s anyone’s guess what it will look like when the season starts. Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle wrote about the competition and talked about the relievers that have looked the best to fill the role.
Manager Bruce Bochy reiterated that he really would like to have a long man to start the season.
The two relievers who have looked the best so far are the lefties Dan Runzler and the upstart De Paula, whom the Giants liked when they scouted him at Double-A San Antonio last summer and claimed when the Padres placed him on waivers in November. They no doubt had younger prospects with more upside they wanted to protect on the 40-man roster.
In other baseball news today, Matt Carpenter and the St. Louis Cardinals reached a 6 year contract extension.
