Today the Giants ‘A’ squad will take on the Padres at home in Scottsdale. This is the first of two match-ups of the National League West rivals at Spring Training.
Tim Lincecum will make his spring training debut for the Giants and been throwing the ball extremely well since reporting to spring training. Lincecum credits this to continuing to work out and pitch in the off-season. In past years, he would arrive spring training having not thrown off a mound since the previous season ended.
Belt had some neck stiffness yesterday but it’s nothing serious.

Blanco has been swinging the bat really well so far this spring.
Haven’t mentioned this yet, but @gregorblanco7 looks terrific at the plate. Just doubled off the wall. Wouldn’t be his first torrid spring.

Josh Johnson, formerly of the Bluejays, will make his spring training debut today for the Padres. Johnson signed a one year, $8MM deal with the team in the off-season. The RHP has spent most of this nine years in Florida and has a lifetime ERA of 3.40.
Xavier Nady, who played left field sporadically for Giants in 2012, was signed by the Padres in January and gets a start today at first base.
#sdgiants vs Friars: CF Blanco, SS Crawford, 3B Sandoval, RF Pence, LF Morse, C Sanchez, 1B Arias, 2B Abreu. And P Lincecum.
