#7 Most Thankful: Javier Lopez

It’s hard to write about baseball in the offseason without much happening. During the season we have 162 games to watch almost every day. In late November, we’re grasping for anything baseball related. Hell, I even upgraded by cable package to get MLB so I can watch re-runs of Hot Stove.

Today is Thanksgiving and I’ve already called all my family back in New York and have a few hours to kill before my Thanksgiving dinner. I thought I would do a little feature on Javier Lopez, the Giant I am most thankful for. As we all know, he was just re-signed to the Giants for 3 years/13MM and made it official after passing his physical two days ago in San Francisco.

Everyone knows how excited I am, people have been posting videos and links to me on Twitter. I thought it would be a good time to compile a bunch of the clips here for others thankful Javier Lopez is planning on finishing his career in San Francisco.

I couldn’t have said this any better!

Here are a few video clips, enjoy everyone!

Plan A for Lopez was staying in San Francisco. Video here.

Lopez likes running around like a 10-year old with his teammates, and prefers a walkoff win to a strikeout to win a game. In a fight between Sabes and Bochy, he thinks Bochy would win. Tim Lincecum is the best dressed Giant and Javi prefers long-haired Timmy. Javi speaks seven languages (not really). Video here.

Javier Lopez Discusses PEDs on Yahoo Sports Talk Live. Video here.

Javier Lopez talks about working through struggles at the start of the season, being a veteran and working with the younger players.

And finally we have three more years of Lopez-controlled Giants rookie hazing! Now that’s something to be thankful for!
