Top 10 Homeruns Of 2013 For San Francisco Giants – Number 9 Guillermo Quiroz

Who doesn’t like a back story with these? Guillermo Quiroz, a career minor leaguer, gets the role of back up catcher because Hector Sanchez was having problems with his shoulder in Spring Training. It’s the bottom of the 10th inning and Bruce Bochy had to use his last bench player to pinch hit. Who was this man? Guillermo Quiroz! Quiroz stepped into the box against Brandon League, whom the Dodgers spent a lot of money to retain. There it is, a man making league minimum versus a man making $6.5 million dollars a year. The man making league minimum beat the man who was making $6.5 million.

This was a great home run because it was against the Dodgers and it’s hard not to publish every home run that the Giants hit against the Dodgers this year. However, I have a special place in my heart for walk offs and walk offs against the bums. It sent 41,000 people home happy that night, when everything was going right for the Giants in the early part of 2013.  Way to go Guillermo Quiroz for making number nine on our list of top 10 home runs.
