August Recap: Buster Posey

Buster Posey hasn’t had the best summer. His batting average in August was slightly better than July, but his hits were a bit more productive in July. Oh, and he hit a couple of home runs in July. That’s something Posey hasn’t done in all of August. Still, a slump for Posey is still better than most players slumps. He’s still sporting a .302 batting average on the season. There’s no doubt Posey will be with the Giants for a long time, so no mystery here except if he’ll ever move from behind the plate. Personally, I don’t see that happening anytime in the foreseeable sure.

I wouldn’t read too much into Posey’s “slump” however. He’s had a busy 4 years. 2 World Series Championships and year rehabbing that broken ankle. I look forward to Posey and the rest of the Giants being healthy and well-rested coming into Spring Training next year.

Posey needs some real protection hitting behind him, like Barry Bonds !

      Posey does need some protection.

Heh, yeah Bonds would be nice…or Panda if he’d ever stay health and keep the weight off.
