Brandon Crawford leaves Tuesday’s game with sprained fingers

From Steve Corkran of the Mercury News:

June 18, 2013; San Francisco, CA, USA; San Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford (35, left) reacts after being caught on a steal attempt against San Diego Padres second baseman Logan Forsythe (11, right) during the second inning at AT

Starting shortstop Brandon Crawford was replaced in the fourth inning after spraining the middle and index fingers on his right hand.

It appeared as if Crawford hurt his fingers while attempting to steal second in the second inning.

X-rays on Crawford’s fingers were negative, and the word on the street is that he shouldn’t be out for too long, but don’t expect him in Wednesday’s lineup. Expect Joaquin Arias to pick up the slack at short while Nick Noonan takes up the third base position while Crawford and Pablo Sandoval are out.

The Giants play the rubber match against the Padres at AT&T at 12:45PM PST on Wednesday.
