Washington Nationals No Longer A Contender for Angel Pagan

When announced that Denard Span had been traded to the Washington Nationals, many fans of the San Francisco Giants had reason to be optimistic. This take Angel Pagan off the list of teams that could sign him as their center fielder/leadoff hitter.

There were rumors today that the Giants’ biggest competition will be the Philadelphia Phillies. However, with Michael Bourn still on the market, there is a good chance that Bourn could go to the Phillies leaving the Giants with a higher chance of signing Pagan.

Though the Atlanta Braves signed center fielder BJ Upton, they could still sign Pagan to play left field and bat leadoff.

Other teams interested coud be the Chicago Cubs, the New York Mets(Pagan’s former team), and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks traded away center fielder Chris Young to the Oakland Athletics leaving them as an interesting option for Angel Pagan who is in high demand after his championship season with the Giants.
