San Francisco Giants Announce Barry Zito To Start Game 1 Of World Series

According to Bruce Bochy, the San Francisco Giants will give the Game one nod to Barry Zito, although the move was widely expected. The only other options to open the World Series were Tim Lincecum and Madison Bumgarner, but it appears Lincecum will most likely be regulated to bullpen duty while Bumgarner could potentially start game two.

Justin Verlander will obviously oppose Zito Wednesday evening in the China Basin.
