Following last night’s 3-2 win over San Diego was the unsettling news of Pablo Sandoval‘s left hamstring strain after he completed a sharp double play in the 3rd.

Here’s a screenshot of Pablo’s acrobatics:

And the official report, as tweeted by Amy G:

You can blame Bruce Bochy for penciling Panda at first and sitting Brandon Belt, as there seems to be no shortage of reasons to harangue the skipper for his mishandling of the Baby Giraffe.

Or, you can blame Ryan Theriot for trapping a grounder by Carlos Quentin and Brandon Crawford for whipping it to first base.

When it comes down to it, though, Pablo just has poor luck. He successfully pulled off the splits—a feat I’ve been trying to perfect since childhood—finished the double play, and was promptly removed for Belt. Nice try, Brandon, you can’t get out of playing that easily.

Tomorrow, more details will be released as Sandoval undergoes an MRI to reveal the extent of the damage. Best case scenario: he’ll warm Belt’s spot on the bench for a few days.

Worst case scenario: well, hey, Joaquin Arias isn’t half bad. Right?
