Giants Doing Due Diligence On Miami Marlins' Fire Sale

Prior to the Los Angeles Dodgers acquisition of Hanley Ramirez last night, the San Francisco Giants had scouts at Monday and possibly Tuesday night’s games in Miami as the Marlins took on the Braves, this according to Jon Morosi:

#BlueJays, #Yankees, #SFGiants, #Indians, #Dbacks, #STLCards among teams that had scouts at #Marlins game last night.

As to what the Giants were looking for is anybody’s guess. They could’ve been in attendance for Hanley, prior to his late night move. Much as some may cringe, there’s a good probability they were also attempting to look at Heath Bell. The Giants could’ve also been scoping out a potential outfield bat like Logan Morrison or Austin Kearns. What comes of it remains to be seen, but it appears the Giants didn’t want to be left behind in one of the annual Fish sales.
