Aubrey Huff Hurt In Matt Cain’s Perfect Game Celebration, Giants To Recall Christian

Oh, Aubrey.

The Giants, uh, well, now forgotten backup first baseman did something only Aubrey Huff could do last night, hurt himself in the postgame ruckus of Matt Cain‘s perfect game. As the final out was recorded and the team rushed out to meet Cain at the mound, Huff, leaping over the dugout fence slipped, resulting in a loss of his footing on the infield track which will now end in a disabled list trip.

Huff underwent an MRI today and was diagnosed with a sprained knee.

In his place, Justin Christian, who is hitting .364/.432/.540 with seven homers, 31 RBI, 10 stolen bases and a .972 OPS in 60 games at the Triple-A Fresno this season will meet the Giants in Seattle for this weekends series. The move gives the Giants an additional speedy bat off of the bench, relieving Emmanuel Burriss of being the only burner on the pine.
