Date: June 2nd, 2012

Time: 4:15 PM

Place: AT&T Park

Starting Pitchers: Matt Garza (RHP, 2-3, 4.22 ERA) vs. Matt Cain (RHP, 5-2, 2.79 ERA)

Last year, Giants hitters had 28 at-bats against Garza. They hit for a .321 average with 6 strikeouts while getting him for only two runs. Side comment: Ryan Vogelsong is 1-1 against Garza (Go Vogey!). Lately Garza has been serving up homeruns left and right, maybe even sometimes to center. That was a pun, incase you didn’t notice. He barely made it through five innings during his last start, and the Giants hope to keep putting up wins.

Matt Cain has pitched exceptionally well at AT&T Park this season. In five starts in the City By The Bay, Cain is 2-1 with a 1.85 ERA.

The Giants will look for back-to-back wins tonight, hoping to gain ground in the NL West on the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Tonight, in the “Turn Back The Century Game”, both the Giants (who will become the New York Giants, pictured below) and the Cubs will wear replica jerseys from 1912.
