Giants' Ryan Vogelsong Continues To Have Back Discomfort

For the Giants, if there wasn’t bad luck, there wouldn’t be any luck.

As you’ll recall, the Giants’ Ryan Vogelsong started the season on the disabled list thanks to a back injury and now the feel good story is reporting flare up’s, this according to Hank Schulman:

Vogelsong’s back, which he first injured while lifting weights just before spring training, tightened in the days leading up to Tuesday’s game, I’ve been told, and the Giants decided to send him to Arizona ahead of the team Wednesday to get an injection. Part of the reason for the earlier flight also was to spare his back a late-night flight after moving around all day.

Shulman does report that as of right now, there are no plans for Vogelsong to skip his turn in the rotation (which comes Monday night), but a lingering back injury is not the type of news Ryan or any Giant fans want to hear about.
