Pagan Leads Giants Over Reds 6-5.

First and foremost, congratulations to Pablo Sandoval for having the longest hit streak to start a season by a Giant. However, today it’s all about Angel Pagan. Pagan went 2 for 5 with a Homerun and what a Homerun it was. A three run bomb at the top of the 9th to give the Giants the lead. From there Santiago Casilla closed the bottom of the 9th with three strikeouts and the final out of the 9th was Joey Votto. Casilla was on tonight.

Ryan Vogelsong was OK through 6 innings of work. He allowed 4 ER and a two run homerun in the 6th that gave the Reds the lead. Guillermo Mota was brought into the seventh and allowed a Homerun to give the Reds a 5-3 lead. The Giants got a little luck on their side in the Fourth, Brandon Belt singled to drive in Pablo Sandoval. After a blown double play by the Reds on a ball put in play by Joaquin Arias, Ryan Theriot hit a sacrifice fly to score Buster Posey.

Speaking of Joaquin Arias what a night he had going 2 for 3 with a BB and scored two runs. Arias has a similar defensive range as Brandon Crawford so it’ll be interesting to see who is in the lineup for tomorrow’s game against the Padres. Eric Hacker will be brought up from Fresno to pitch to the Padres.
