After a disappointing 10-2 loss to the Cincinatti Reds, the San Francisco Giants optioned infielder(primarily third base) Conor Gillaspie to Triple-A Fresno. Many will remember Gillaspie’s first, and currently only, major league homerun at AT&T Park that did not go into the stands or the bay. Instead it was a memorable and entertaining inside-the-park homerun.

The thrid baseman was hitting a dismal .194 this spring, with seven hits in 36 at bats. He performed well at the corner, recording only one error this spring. He will not make the Opening Day roster this time around, but we should see him in September.
