According to Jeff Fletcher of AOL, the Giants are in heavy discussions with the Kansas City Royals about outfielder Scott Podsednik:
Source confirms #sfgiants in on podsednik. They reportedly already had agreed on prospects for DeJesus, so pieces of deal there.
If the Giants can get Podsednik on the cheap, it would be a great deal in my opinion. It would allow the Giants to have a true leadoff hitter who’s having a very solid year, letting them move Torres to the two hole and push Freddy Sanchez down to the eighth. Really polishes off the lineup well, especially if the price is a few low level prospects.
